Asynchronous Forward Bounding Revisited

چکیده
The Distributed Constraint Optimization Problem (DCOP) is a powerful framework for modeling and solving applications in multi-agent coordination. Asynchronous Forward Bounding (AFB BJ) is one of the best algorithms to solve DCOPs. We propose AFB BJ, a revisited version of AFB BJ in which we refine the lower bound computations. We also propose to compute lower bounds for the whole domain of the last assigned agent instead of only doing this for its current assignment. This reduces both the number of messages needed and the time future agents remain idle. In addition, these lower bounds can be used as a value ordering heuristic in AFB BJ. The experimental evaluation on standard benchmark problems shows the efficiency of AFB BJ compared to other algorithms for DCOPs.

Asynchronous Forward-Bounding for Distributed Constraints Optimization
A new search algorithm for solving distributed constraint optimization problems (DisCOPs) is presented. Agents assign variables sequentially and propagate their assignments asynchronously. The asynchronous forward-bounding algorithm (AFB) is a distributed optimization search algorithm that keeps one consistent partial assignment at all times. Forward bounding propagates the bounds on the cost o...

متن کامل1-Generic Degrees Bounding Minimal Degrees Revisited
We show that over the base system P− + Σ2-bounding, the existence of a 1-generic degree < 0′′ bounding a minimal degree is equivalent to Σ2-induction.
متن کاملAsynchronous BVH Construction for Ray Tracing Dynamic Scenes
Recent developments have produced several techniques for interactive ray tracing of dynamic scenes. In particular, bounding volume hierarchies (BVHs) are efficient acceleration structures that handle complex triangle distributions and can accommodate deformable scenes by updating (refitting) the bounding primitive without restructuring the entire tree. Unfortunately, updating only the bounding ...
متن کاملBbs: A Phase-Bounded Model Checker for Asynchronous Programs
A popular model of asynchronous programming consists of a singlethreaded worker process interacting with a task queue. In each step of such a program, the worker takes a task from the queue and executes its code atomically to completion. Executing a task can call “normal” functions as well as post additional asynchronous tasks to the queue. Additionally, tasks can be posted to the queue by the ...
